Since January, I have been participating in "Scale Back Alabama". There are 4 people on a team and each team member weighs in and after 10 weeks weighs out. If every member of the team loses at least 10 pounds, you are entered in drawings to win several prizes, such as cash and ETO. My team was called "Baby Fat" and consisted of me and 3 other pharmacists (2 other moms and 1 dad, trying to lose their baby fat!). So, for the past 10 weeks I have been trying to eat healthy and exercise when I can. I have not eaten french fries for 10 weeks, and I have not even had a Cadbury egg (my favorite, favorite candy!). Yesterday I weighed out, and I am happy to report that I lost 14 pounds! Yea!!! I did not want to let my team down! The only problem now is many of my clothes are too big. I may just have to go shopping and buy some new spring and summer clothes! (Or I might just eat about 20 Cadbury eggs and put the weight right back on! Hopefully not!)
Tripp and I are off to Rosemary Beach today with our friends, Jason and Jennifer. We are so excited about the trip! Puppy and Granddaddy are coming to Huntsville to keep Caroline while we are gone. We are going to miss her so much. 4 nights away from our precious daughter seems like an eternity, but I know we will have a great time. And more importantly, Caroline will be spoiled rotten while we are gone!

Pictures!
Here a few pictures of our 9-month old girl!

Caroline loves this pot on our sun porch. She will take off from the living room to the sun porch to pull up and stand by this pot. So funny! Tripp gave me this pot as a birthday present a few years ago (what a random gift!). I was not so excited about getting a pot for my birthday, but now I am glad we have it since Caroline loves it!

Caroline is pulling up on everthing these days, and she loves to be standing up. She will even stand up without holding on to anything for a few seconds. I know she will be walking soon!

I just adore this precious face!
All of the above pictures were taken on our sun porch. Caroline likes this room because of the French doors and windows. She loves looking outside at our deck through the French doors and being in the sunshine. I am planning on converting the sun porch to her playroom. It is right off the living room, so it will be nice to have a place to keep a toy box and bigger toys, like a kitchen set. (If you read Southern Living, there is a picture of a sun room that was converted to a playroom in the current issue). I am not sure when I am going to have the time to complete this, but I am going to start working on it. I will post pictures when it is finished!

9 Months Old!
Caroline is now 9 months old. On Thursday, she had her doctor's appointment. She weighed 18 pounds, 3 ounces (40th percentile) and is 30 inches tall (98th percentile). Her doctor said that we needed to get her a basketball since she is probably going to be tall! We told him that she already has a pink basketball that she got at her baby shower. She had a great check-up. We are so thankful to have a happy, healthy, growing girl!
Caroline and I are in Mississippi this weekend visiting family, so I cannot post any pictures. But I will try to post some soon when we get back home. She is having a great time playing with her grandparents, great-grandparents, and aunts and uncles!

Happy Valentine's Day!
I have had a wonderful Valentine's Day hanging out with the two people I love most in this world. Tripp let me sleep late this morning, and I woke up to hot coffee and flowers! He had a bouquet made for me out of my favorite flowers -- gerber daisies, roses, and lilies.

He also got Caroline a sweet bouquet of flowers.

The card to go with flowers said, "It was love at first sight, twice". I thought that was so sweet!
Caroline loved her Valentine's Day outfit because it says "I love Daddy"! She is definitely a Daddy's girl!

Here are our attempts to take a family picture today!

Chicken Pox
Our sweet Caroline got the chicken pox from somewhere! The bumps appeared literally out of nowhere and we have no idea where she was exposed to them. The doctor said it was the first case he had seen this year. But Caroline has been such a trooper! She has not acted like she felt bad at all and has not run fever since Sunday. She has been playing hard with Winnie and Granddaddy who came to keep her at the beginning of the week. She is looking better everyday. The bumps are slowly healing and disappearing, thank goodness! We were supposed to leave today to go visit my best friend Tracy, her husband Adam, and their daughter Adalyn who just turned one (they live in Conway, AR). But we do not want to expose Adalyn to the chicken pox, so we will be staying in town. We are so sad to cancel our trip, but we are going to reschedule it soon!

Look closely and you can see the bumps on her sweet face!

Caroline with her mittens on (they did not stay on long, but she really never tried to scratch the bumps)

Caroline looks a lot like her spotted giraffe! We think she is just as beautiful with spots, of course!

Funny Girl!
One day this week I put Caroline in her crib so I could grab some laundry. When I came back into her room, I found this!

I am going to have to take her mobile off her crib or she will pull it down herself! She was having so much fun playing with it and climbing around in her crib. It was so funny!

(These pictures were taken before Caroline got the chicken pox. Yes, we went to the doctor this morning and she has chicken pox. Please pray for sweet Caroline.)
